Scholarship Department
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”– Luke 2:52
The ultimate goal of the Scholarship and Graduation Committee is to ensure that each member grow as our Savior did, in wisdom, knowledge, stature and in favor with God and man.
We hope to empower every member of the Restoration Community in committing to higher academic achievement with the aim of improving their spiritual/socio-economic status.
This ministry has the desire to provide opportunities for students at every level in our educational system and to work towards standards of excellence in their pursuit of higher education. We*ll use the guidelines of the Church with special emphasis on strong prayer, and the guidelines of the New York State Department of Education.
The Scholarship and Graduation Department was inaugurated in 2002 and from then until now has experienced continuous growth. At Restoration Temple AOG we like to encourage and recognize our students by providing additional resources for scholarships from Pre-K to Post Graduate education. Once a year we oversee graduation exercises celebrating the success of the graduates.
We hope to launch the After School/ Homework Help Program which will be open to all. Qualified personnel will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 4:00PM and 6:00PM. They include but are not limited to Christian teachers and past graduates. Emphasis will be placed on basic skills such as reading, spelling, mathematics and on the student*s needs. Registration forms will be available upon request.
Funding for the Scholarship and Graduation program is obtained from the faithful members of the Restoration Congregation, and other fund raisers from time to time. We thank you for your faithful giving and we solicit your continual contributions.
We admonish each person to acquire some form of formal training or education. Education is the key to all latches. It brightens the horizon for us and for our generation (children, and our children’s children). If we are to truly embrace what he Lord says, we have to be equipped for that task.
Let us consider Deuteronomy 28: 12-13- “The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. And the Lord shall make thee the head and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them.”
Proverbs 13:22 – “A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.”
Parents teach the law of the Lord to your children.Deuteronomy 6:7-9-“And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk to them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes; And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.”
