Children Relief Ministry

Mission Statement

He shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor….. Psalm 72:4

The Children Relief Ministry of Restoration Temple Assembly of God is our first missionary children out reach venture:

This program was inaugurated in 1990. The ministry’s ultimate objective is to cater to the spiritual needs of Children. To date, Children Relief has ministered to over 9,000 children in Guyana. In its first year of operation, we worked out of six local churches. This figure doubled the second year, quadrupled in the third year and to date we have ministered to 44 churches in Guyana and 1 in Grenada.

Children Relief has been catering to the physical and material needs of the child, but this operation has become trifold. It has become a great tool of evangelism where not only the children have experienced the power of God, but it has caught on to entire families, a springboard for the growth of many churches.

Many families would have never entered a church door or have been reached with the gospel. Pastors have written to express their gratitude for what has been done and have endeavored to carry on the program after we have left.

At Restoration Temple, Children Relief is not only a summer program but an all year round project where contributions of cash, goods, books, school stationery and medical pharmacy supplies are being shipped to the countries involved in the program.

The ministry was also extended to other churches in this city e.g Pentecostal Circle Tabernacle, and overseas to Suriname.

We are grateful for their input.

What is our Biblical Mandate?

Let us look at what Jesus said in Matthew 25: 34 – 40..

“For I was an hungred and ye gave me meat. I was thirsty and ye gave me drink, I was a stranger and ye took me in: Naked and ye clothed me, I was sick and ye visited me, I was in prison and ye came unto me.

Then shall the righteous answer him saying, Lord,When saw we thee an hungred and fed thee? or thirsty and gave thee drink? When saw thee a stranger and took thee in? or naked and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick or in prison and came to thee?

And the king shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me”

In this 21st century we will enlarge our territory, and pray that God’s hand would be with us..1 Chronicles 4:10
